Description
Mamornitz is an illustrated history of Ukrainian settlement in the Mamornitz district in Saskatchewan. Driven by wars, oppression and economic hardship, many residents from the village of Mamornytsya and the surrounding area joined the exodus from Ukraine at the turn of the century and took up homesteads in the Mamornitz area between 1900 and 1914.
The existence of this community is documented for the first time through archival homestead records, Department of education school records and mane related photographs.
